Jokhang Temple Pictures : built in 647 by Songtsen Gampo and his two foreign wives, the Jokhang temple (Dazhao Si) has a history of more than 1300 years. It is the spiritual center of Tibet with pilgrims coming everyday to fuel myriad of flickering butter lamps with yak butter, and honor their deities with white scarves (Kha-btags or Hada) while murmuring sacred mantras. Below is the list of the photos and pictures I took in the Jokhang Temple. You can use these photos as a guide to Jokhang Temple. All photos taken with a Canon EOS 300D (for more information on the material I have been using, follow the link «Lenses» below). At the bottom of the page you can also find a world map showing where the Johkang Temple is. Finally at the top of the page you can find a link to the conditions for using the photos and pictures for free on benoa.net and a link to my photo blog. Bon Voyage!
