Drepung Monastery Pictures : about 8km west of central Lhasa is the Drepung (Zhebang Si), once world's largest monastery with a floor space of more than 200 000 square meters and about 10 000 monks. It was founded in 1416 by a disciple of Tsong Khapa and later enlarged by the Fifth Dalai Lama. Many high and learned lamas had studied here. Below is the list of the photos and pictures I took in the Drepung Monastery. You can use these photos as a guide to Drepung Monastery. All photos taken with a Canon EOS 300D (for more information on the material I have been using, follow the link «Lenses» below). At the bottom of the page you can also find a world map showing where the Drepung Monastery is. Finally at the top of the page you can find a link to the conditions for using the photos and pictures for free on benoa.net and a link to my photo blog. Bon Voyage!
