Chichen Itza Pictures : this enormous complex of Mayan ruins is one of the largest and best maintained in Mexico. It was, in its time of grandeur (between 800 and 1200 A.D.), the centre of political, religious and military power in the Yucatan. It was a large city with many inhabitants but was abandoned suddenly around 1400 A.D. perhaps because of internal fighting or for lack of food. There are many theories but nobody knows for certain. Below is the list of the photos and pictures I took in Chichen Itza. You can use these photos as a guide to Chichen Itza. All photos taken with a Fuji Finepix MX-1700 (for more information on the material I have been using, follow the link «Lenses» below). At the bottom of the page you can also find a world map showing where Chichen Itza is. Finally at the top of the page you can find a link to the conditions for using the photos and pictures for free on benoa.net and a link to my photo blog. Bon Voyage!
