Takayama Pictures : Takayama is a city in the mountainous Hida region of Gifu Prefecture, which has retained a traditional touch like few other Japanese cities, especially in its beautifully preserved old town. Takayama is best known for its background in carpentry. It is believed carpenters from Takayama worked on the Imperial Palace in Kyoto and on many of the temples in Kyoto and Nara. Below is the list of the photos and pictures I took in and around Takayama (Japan). You can use these pictures as a photo guide to Takayama and see some pictures of : Hida, San-Machi Sugi, Hida no Sato, Takayama Jinya, Furukawa, Shirakawa-go, Ogimachi... For these photos and pictures, the digital camera I used were a Canon EOS Digital SLR (for more information on the material I have been using, follow the link «Lenses» at the bottom of the page). Below you can also find a map showing where Takayama is. Finally at the top of the page you can find a link to the conditions for using the photos and pictures for free on benoa.net and a link to my Photolog. Bon Voyage!
