Temporary Measure

In the 70s, a temporary tax on gas was approved by the Japanese Governement and lasted for about 30 years. Its disappearance a few weeks ago made the gas price drop by about 20%. Needless to say that the introduction of a new tax was swift... But why taxing users to compensate while oil companies post always higher and more and more unacceptable profits?

This photo was taken while I was queuing together with quite a few others at the gas station on April the 30th: the day before the new tax became effective.
