Liuhe Night Market

The Liuhe Night Market is the “tourist” night market of Kaohsiung. The highlight of the market is seafood: there are many stands selling, crab, shrimp, octopus, and squid. Some stands are actually restaurants and you can pick the fresh seafood you want and walk to the back and sit at a table to eat. Sitting at the plastic tables, on the plastic chairs in the middle of the street is however a lot more fun.

I’m not sure why it is called the “tourist” night market though because I didn’t many of them, or at least definitely less than in the Ruifeng Night Market, where the food was generally of lower quality (my Chinese friends agreed with me). Liuhe is also where we had a chance to eat some snake!
